Connecting to Self
A workshop dedicated to honouring the self
We understand that life can be full, distracting + that the mind can feel like it’s on repeat. We know this can lead to a feeling of disconnect to the self as a whole. This is why we have created this space.
Our invitation is for you to spend an evening Connecting to Self. We will tap into the body with slow + subtle movement from yin yoga, somatics + breathwork along with energy + sound healing to support the practice.
Yin yoga is a deeply nourishing practice in which we hold gentle shapes over time, accessing release through the many bodies (physical, mental, emotional, energy). Somatic exercises awaken tired muscles + can aid in releasing tension as well as promoting the felt experience throughout the body. Reiki is a gentle healing practice where ‘universal life force or energy is channelled through light touch to activate the body’s natural healing process. This is facilitated through the hands of the practitioner. It is a subtle and relaxing technique that works across mental, emotional and physical imbalances. Reiki typically brings rapid stress reduction and relief from pain and anxiety.
Lori, of The Humble Nook, will guide you through a gentle 90 minutes of a slow + considered movement practice combining Yin yoga + somatic practices. Sally, of Astara Wellbeing, will work with Reiki energy to remove energetic blocks that have been created over time. Reiki helps to rebalance the body and mind and promote a deep sense of relaxation, it is in this state, your body begins to heal, allowing you to return to your true nature through an optimal internal environment.
We are thrilled to announce that we will be joined by a very special sound healer, Corrine Brown of the Institute of Holistic Therapies

Online event in your home
Due to Covid, we ask all students to bring their own mats + any additional supporting props. Please arrive 15 minutes early to lay out your mat + connect with us + space. All bodies and Beginners welcome. We recommend you dress comfortably with layers, as we will be on the floor for the majority of the class.
Connecting to Self Workshop
We acknowledge this workshop is held on the land of the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nationand acknowledge they are the traditional custodians. We recognise their continuing connection to land, waters and culture. We pay our respects to their Elders past, present and emerging.
I'm Lori, a remedial massage therapist, and a yoga and mindfulness meditation teacher. I love exploring the body through both movement and stillness and sharing this joy with you.
